Russ Still | I found this animation today that does a nice job of showing the development of the ISS. |
Voyager1975 | That animation is excellent!! |
AstroAutos | That's pretty cool and it basically sums up in a minute the ISS development which has so far taken some years! |
MCroft04 | I agree; very nice. But it would be even better if each addition was identified by mission. |
contra | Thanks for the link, Russ. Great animation. |
Klaatu | I hope nobody has already posted this USA Today ISS Timeline... if they have I apologise! Editor's note: Threads merged. |
issman1 | Very impressive indeed! Personally, I would like to see a Chinese Shenzhou docking at the ISS some day. |
Klaatu | Yeah, that would be good. This little animation only goes to show how "ugly" the ISS is. Whatever happened to the wheel design so loved by sci-fi movies? |
Paul23 | I was sent this link showing an animated timeline of the construction of the ISS which I thought might be of interest. Editor's note: Threads merged. |
garymilgrom | Lovely animation but what's missing are the shuttles and spacewalking astronauts who delivered and attached the modules. Wouldn't it be cool to have a shuttle drop off the cargo and a spacewalker guide it into place? |

Wasn't it determined that for the revolutions needed to produce gravity the result would be disorienting to the crew? |
