[i]The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has announced that astronaut Satoshi Furukawa will travel aboard a Russian Soyuz spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS) and spend about six months there from spring 2011. ...Furukawa is slated to be involved in the operation of the ISS and scientific experiments using Japan's Kibo space laboratory before returning on the Soyuz. Furukawa is currently undergoing training in Russia. "I want to contribute to life-science experiments, making full use of my ability as a doctor," he commented.[/i]
