T O P I C R E V I E WUser997Watching the live TV coverage of the launch yesterday and today, I had noticed a couple things in the White Room that I was curious was the function was.First one is the large grey thing thats mounted the wall in the below photo. What is this used for? Second one is the yellow hose that they installed to the top of the White Room ceiling, and ran it into the cabin. Thanks![This message has been edited by User997 (edited July 02, 2006).]lewarrenI believe the yellow hose is for air conditioning, and I believe the curved slide attached to the wall is used in case of emergency evacuation of an incapacited crew. The Close-Out crew puts the slide into place inside the orbiter from the inter-deck hatch to the orbiter hatch to slide crewmembers along.
