It's my understanding you can/could go through the museum on the VIP tour, but time is limited.</TD></TR><TR bgcolor="#333333"><TD valign=top>mikej</TD><TD>According to the <A HREF="http://afspacemuseum.org/" TARGET=_blank>Air Force Space and Missile Museum</A> page, you can call to arrange a tour (if you have 15 or more people).The museum is also accessible through the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex's <A HREF="https://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/things-to-do/cape-canaveral-early-space-tour.aspx" TARGET=_blank>Then and Now Tour</A>. I took this tour in the summer of 2004; at that time, the stop at the museum was on the order of 20 to 30 minutes.</TD></TR><TR bgcolor="#494949"><TD valign=top>Harry Bennett</TD><TD>I had read on here that you can get in via the Then & Now tour, but I'd like to spend more than 30 minutes there. Another option I heard from a retired friend that lives in Cocoa is they hold a vintage car show there once a year and the museum is open then all day. That's another option that I need to check into.Thanks for all the help so far!</TD></TR><TR bgcolor="#333333"><TD valign=top>GACspaceguy</TD><TD>I have taken the Then and Now tour a number of time just to be able to see the museum. I agree the 20 to 30 minutes they give you is just not enough. There was one time when I was there that I had a conversation with one of the volunteers (docents). That person said they were always looking for more volunteers for the museum. You may want to inquire about volunteering and that would get you plenty of time there. It could be a win win (apart from having to drive across Florida to get there) you get to spend time at the museum and they get someone with interest and knowledge of restorations. With the state of the corrosion on some of the vehicles they could use some TLC. </TD></TR><TR bgcolor="#494949"><TD valign=top>Harry Bennett</TD><TD>That is a thought. I'll be visiting the area and would like to take my family to the museum, but without doing the tour (my kids are too young to sit through it). As an Air Force civilian (elsewhere), I can normally escort people onto a base, but wasn't sure if Cape Canaveral AFS had different rules. When I visited last month, little had changed except for some chains to indicate "Do Not Enter." At one point they had a Gemini mockup to refurbish and place inside, but so far it is not there.</TD></TR></TABLE></td></tr></table>
