Thank you guys for your very kind words. I really appreciate the feedback. I was very nervous about putting this painting on the website. Sorry for the poor quality of the photo.
I always liked the T-38 Talon. A very clean aircraft. In my opinion NASA's are the most beautiful. Originally this painting was to be a pair of T-38s flying over the KSC (with no clouds). But as the drawings grew larger and the idea expanded, I thought it might be fun to have the aircraft in the foreground flying shotgun for a shuttle/747 transfer flight.
It will be a long time before I paint a cloud again.
My interest in the space program was rekindled last year when I attended the launch of STS-124. Between then and inspired by the cS website and its dedicated members and attending the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation's show last year I was hooked again.
Some of the artists on this website have greatly inspired me, most noteably Ed Hengeveld. I am constantly scanning the cS website for Ed's latest painting.
AJ, I have dozens of drawings of astronauts and spacecraft that I hope to convert to paintings in the future.
I currently have three paintings in various stages of completion. The first is inspired by the wildlife around the KSC near launch pad 39A. The next is a large painting (inches not centimeters) of Charlie Duke standing on the moon near the end of close out during the final EVA for Apollo 16.
I also hope to have a painting of Skylab done in time to have it signed at the ASF show.
Thank you again guys for your feedback. I really appreciate it.
Best regards
Alan
