T O P I C R E V I E WMCroft04I did a search on this subject but did not find what I was looking for. In the Apollo 12 and later lunar missions where there were multiple EVA's, how did the astronauts replenish the consumables in their backpacks in preparation for the next EVA? I assume that their backpacks were already fully prepared for the first EVA. Was it as simple as hooking up a hose and filling up the backpack with water and oxygen? I suspect it was much more complicated, but I don't recall reading anything about this in any of the books I've read. Robert PearlmanThis diagram shows the location on the PLSS of the water fill connector and the primary oxygen connector. This diagram shows the recharge stations for the water and oxygen inside the LM (albeit not very clearly). For details, see the Apollo Lunar Surface Journal PLSS Technical InformationMCroft04Thanks Robert. The Apollo Lunar Surface Journal shows the system very clearly and gives an explanation. Looks like it was not that complicated.
