T O P I C R E V I E WSkyMan1958It's hard to believe, but we're almost through with 2021. Do you have a plan as to what things you are looking for in space collectibles? What space collectible items have you gotten in the last year? When I first got into the field, roughly 15 years ago, my plan was to try and get a flown item from each Mercury, Gemini and Apollo flight. I was successful with that, and branched out into Skylab. Over time, I became more interested in collecting shuttle era items/pictures, and that, plus ISS signed pictures, is what I'm focusing on now.In the last year my main space collectible purchases were 16 STS (uninscribed) crew signed lithos/photos and three ISS (uninscribed) crew signed lithos/photos. I also picked up two signed books and a meteorite slice. How has 2021 been for you and your space collecting interests? CEKebaloThis has been my first year collecting and it all started last Christmas with a gift from my wife, of a piece of flown beta cloth from Edgar Mitchell, ordered through Florian (Artifact Cloud). The excitement I felt started the fire for the year. I have added in pieces throughout the year, from signed books directly from some such as Charlie Duke, from Steve at Farthest Reaches, to signed photos and covers of some such as Al Worden and Deke Slayton, to my most memorable item... a hand written letter from Charlie Duke to my four year old son. It has been a wonderful year building my collection and I look forward to continuing! This is a great topic to start, I hope others join in. GACspaceguyI have added one Michael Key build, and two unique contractor models, a few signed items and a number of SpaceX launch photos from the here in Georgia. Two of those were posted on the local news so all in all a good year.randyI've had to slow way down due to my Covid-19 restrictions. I've added a few small things, and that's going to have to be it for a while.Zoo KeeperWhile I have long been picking up pieces here or there, 2021 was the first year that I became serious about collecting. I honed in on Mercury artifacts as the focus of my collection as it is my favorite NASA program, and picked up pieces ranging from orbit charts to Liberty Bell 7 lucites to ground equipment. My plan for next year is to continue expanding the collection when possible, specifically hoping to add a few groups of artifacts such as hardware and badges. Greggy_DMy collecting has slowed down to almost nothing. I don't know if it is a case of my waning interest or the fact that my girls are getting expensive with their activities/lives. Probably a combination of both. Previous to this summer I do not think I acquired anything for 2 or 3 years.Back in August though, I did pick up the MLP-2 PlaneTag.
