Here's a first look of the young test pilot that became the Space Ranger we all know him to be today.
Robert PearlmanTeaser trailer
To infinity and... Experience the origin story of a Space Ranger in Disney and Pixar's "Lightyear," in theaters Summer 2022.

OLDIELooks interesting. For all big kids!
thisismillsWill be interesting to see if they reference or include Buzz Aldrin somewhere in the film.

Robert PearlmanNew trailer...

jimszLooks visually interesting but otherwise you can sure notice the absence on John Lasseter from Pixar in the more recents films, including this one.
Gordon Eliot ReadeThe trailer looks fantastic. It combined the excitement of spaceflight with a whimsical feel and I loved Buzz’s pet cat. I can’t wait to see the movie.
Robert PearlmanThe U.S. Postal Service will release this year a set of five postage stamps featuring Buzz Lightyear from "Lightyear":
Far from the confines of Andy's room, a sneak peek of new Forever stamps from the U.S. Postal Service was revealed at the red-carpet premiere of Disney and Pixar's "Lightyear," the new movie featuring Buzz Lightyear.

"Go Beyond" is a pane of 20 stamps arranged in four horizontal rows of five stamps featuring the image of Buzz Lightyear, a Space Ranger marooned on a planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth.

Greg Breeding was the art director using illustrations from Pixar Animation Studios.

Additional details about the "Go Beyond" commemorative stamp collection, including the release date, will be announced later this year.

NASA astronaut helped Pixar find space ranger's new look in 'Lightyear'

Tom Marshburn may not be the real-life Buzz Lightyear, but the space ranger — at least as he appears in the new movie "Lightyear" — would not be the same without the NASA astronaut.

What started several years ago as an unrelated interaction with Pixar, the Disney-owned animation studio behind the "Toy Story" and now "Lightyear" franchises, led to the 61-year-old physician-turned-SpaceX pilot becoming the animators' guide to the world of NASA and space exploration.

Robert PearlmanESA astronaut Tim Peake has a (voice) cameo in "Lightyear":
He has now made his own journey into the world of sci-fi movies with a cameo as the voice of mission control in Pixar animation Lightyear, in which Chris Evans plays Toy Story character Buzz. ...

I had a call from Disney saying "would I like to be involved in a small cameo role for the UK launch?" and I thought "wow fantastic, what an opportunity". Firstly, Disney-Pixar has been a huge part of my life anyway, growing up watching the movies and then as a parent of two young boys. You know you're working with the best of the best, and that's brilliant.

But then, Lightyear obviously has huge associations with the career that I have had as a test pilot and becoming an astronaut. Great messaging as well. It's a really positive movie. It leaves you really warm and inspired, but also takes you on an emotional journey and doesn't shy away. As Disney-Pixar movies always do, it takes on difficult concepts and they really embrace it. You get all of that from this movie.
