T O P I C R E V I E WSkythingsJust watched "The Grand Tour" on Amazon Prime. That's the rebooted BBC version of the once popular car show "Top Gear." On Season 3, Episode 9, James May does a segment on the cars the U.S. astronauts drove. I thought it was very well done and I learned some very interesting tidbits. Great footage. For anyone interested in the U.S. space program, I think you will really like this episode.Grounded! There was a cS thread a few years back about Armstrong's Corvette. If I remember correctly, it looked rather beat up and had those god-awful fender flares added to the rear wheel wells. As I recall, it was being auctioned. There was speculation (by the cS community) as to its authenticity. Is this the same vehicle?Robert PearlmanYes, it is the same car. Here is the 2012 thread. Joe Crosby, a retired Brevard County Sheriff's Office west precinct commander, bought the car from an undisclosed Georgia owner in February 2012. He initially offered the vehicle on eBay — where it garnered offers exceeding $250,000.Instead, he decided to keep Armstrong's Corvette and restore it.Rick MulheirnJames May I know is a huge space fan. His sense of awe and wonder at driving Armstrong's car is revealing and is I'm sure something we can all relate to. Who wouldn't be blown away? In May's shoes I'd have done and said exactly the same thing
