olyI followed this flight online to track the progress with interest, to circumnavigate the globe relying on the wind and weather and overlying his departure point at the end of this trek was amazing to see. It's great to see that the adventurous spirit is still alive.
olyAs reported on tonight's news, the pilot went without drinking water for the last 24 hours of the flight after his supply became frozen following the cabin heater failure suffered earlier in the flight over the South Atlantic Ocean. He also suffered a broken rib, a blow to his head and concussion following a rough landing. He will return to Russia next week and begin plans for an attempt of the altitude record for hot air balloon flight.
