T O P I C R E V I E WRocketmanRobTaking a look at my Kennedy Space Center calendar this week, I noticed that Septmember 12th had four launches listed on it - Gemini 11, STS-48, STS-47, STS-51. Is it coincidence or is there a particular reason that there is such a high number of launches on this date? It does not seem like there are too many other dates with that number of launches. I don't think that the date/position of the earth would have a impact on any flights in earth orbit, but perhaps I am wrong?Robart540Just a coincidence...the original target dates were probably missed. For the number of US manned flights it is remarkable that 4 flew on the same calendar date.413 is inI could be wrong but I believe that December 2 is the date with the greatest number of manned space shots (4 US, 2 Russian). December 2 ties September 12 for US only manned launches. December 2 had six shots total.12/2/1974 Soyuz 1612/2/1988 STS-2712/2/1990 STS-3512/2/1990 Soyuz-TM11 12/2/1992 STS-5312/2/1993 STS-61Check my math.
