T O P I C R E V I E WgliderpilotukLast night was the last episode in the 3 parter. I must say that this was one of the best space-related productions the BBC has done. At last we had a fullsome tribute to the amazing achievements and life of Korolev and by the end of the series I felt I knew him a little. Who knows what would have happened if he had not died prematurely. The acting was top quality. At times it was hard to tell what was "real" film and what was a recreation - especially the Leonov spacewalk. I only wish they had used more original film in eg. the presentation of the M7 to the press, or Gagarin's triumphant return to Moscow. I'd happily have this on DVD as a historical record.Paul BramleySteve ProcterLooking forward to the DVD also Paul, no doubt containing many 'bonus extras' !!As you say, the acting was very good - no great stars but who needs them?Von Braun did look like Sam Neill (a bit) though. It was also mentioned in our house that Mishin once met an untimely end in 'Midsomer Murders' (110 murders so far in that series - you would think that the Chief Constable would want a word with Barnaby )Keep smilingStevepaul prendergastPaul, i have to agree with what you said, but i missed the last instalment, but the other parts were well acted and it was one of the better seies from the beeb.Paul BlackarrowAn excellent series, but it's a pity that the last episode wrongly showed the maiden flight of the Saturn 5 as a near failure, with two engines failing on the second stage. In fact, the first launch was a triumph. It was the second launch that lost two engines. I appreciate that events sometimes have to be "telescoped" for reasons of dramatic flow, but I felt that the alleged engine failures on the first launch were intended to suggest that production and launch of the Saturn 5 (and "man-rating" after only one dodgy launch!)was all very rushed and risky.
