T O P I C R E V I E WRick MulheirnFor some time I have hankered after a website of my own on which to share some of my choicer items. But things constantly seem to get in the way.......; an ever expanding waist line, diminishing grey matter and sheer bone idleness to name but three. Then, a knight in shining armour (aka Adam Bootle) came to my rescue offering to host some of my collection.Checkout www.adboo.com, enter the autograph website, select SEARCH and enter RICK.... and hey presto, there you have it.At this point, besides a huge debt of gratitude, I also owe Adam an apology. The less discerning (or more charitable) amongst you might think my digital photographs have a certain "rustic charm"....! The reality is they are ropey in the extreme and do the rest of Adam's outstanding site a positive dis-service.That aside, at least the items are out there. If anybody wants to know more please feel free to ask or drop me a line and I shall do my best to respond. In the mean time, thank you Adam.Regards,Rick.RickMul57@aol.com [This message has been edited by collectSPACE Admin (edited May 31, 2004).]gliderpilotukRick,you've got some amazing stuff! Where did you get that LM engine!! Between you and Matt you have enough bits to build a rival for Starchaser!Next time I'm in the NW I'd love a guided tour,All the bestPaulRick MulheirnHi Paul,Fortunately I was keen on space back in the mid to late 60's. I really got "into" the subject in the early 70's. The engine was given to me by a chap at the Marquardt Corpration in the mid 70's. The fact that the word "Scrap" is scratched into one or two componants on the engine gives you an idea of what people thought of this stuff back then. Along with several Apollo suits and the odd LM ascent stage (and that I'm sure is just a fraction of the stuff that was ditched) space was just not fashionable in those days and was simply discarded. Or so it seemed.Starchaser.....? Oh, didn't Matt tell you? We've been there, done that. They're playing catch up! Now where is that £10,000,000?Regards,Rick. nasamad Hi Rick, It's a pleasure to help out a fellow collector. I've made it easier to find your page now as it is linked from the frontpage of my site so its just http://adboo.com and the link is there. Don't worry too much about the pics, they aren't the easiest items to photograph, and I'm sure everybody is too busy drooling over the actual items to critisise the photography ! AdamLarry McGlynnRick,Very nice. I have one question though. How did you get all that stuff into your home without your wife and daughters complaining? The artifacts look great. When does the LM model come onto the site?------------------Larry McGlynnA Tribute to ApolloRick MulheirnCan't say too much about that Larry. "Loose lips sinks ships", "walls have ears" and all that. Suffice to say I am happily married........well until such time as Sue finds Adam's website! It just so happens a very nice LM, courtesy of an even nicer friend in California is expected to land tomorrow. It will make it on to the site in due course.Regards,Rick.
