A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will deliver EchoStar 23, a communications satellite, to a geostationary transfer orbit (GTO). EchoStar Corp. is a global provider of satellite and video delivery solutions.
SpaceX is targeting launch from Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida during a two and a half hour launch window opening on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at 1:34 a.m. EDT (0534 GMT). Satellite deployment will take place approximately 34 minutes after launch.
A backup launch window opens on Thursday, March 16, at 1:35 a.m. EDT (0535 GMT).
The EchoStar 23 mission will be SpaceX's second launch from 39A. SpaceX will not attempt to land Falcon 9's first stage after launch due to mission requirements.
