[i]Richard and Owen Garriott Talk Private Space Flight, Science in Space[/i] Thirty-five years after NASA astronaut Owen Garriott first flew into space, his son Richard, a successful video-game designer, followed suit as a private citizen. The younger Garriott brokered a deal through the firm Space Adventures to pay the Russian Federal Space Agency about $30 million for a ride aboard a Soyuz spacecraft to the International Space Station last October. Below are Richard and Owen Garriotts' thoughts and experiences on private space flight and scientific research aboard the International Space Station.
