T O P I C R E V I E WRocket ChrisLooking for a green shuttle fit-check tile. Open for offers.garymilgromI have one you may be interested in, but before proceeding does anyone know if ITAR restrictions apply to these types of tiles? Thank you.Rocket ChrisSee this post here (#24). Seems that no ITAR is applicable here.Emailed you back.Robert PearlmanMy linked reply on NASA Spaceflight does not say that fit check tiles do not fall under ITAR; only that authentic shuttle tiles are clearly restricted.I really don't know if a fit check tile would be prohibited for export. I have seen the rules interpreted in such a way that any hardware once installed on the orbiters is restricted. I have also seen arguments for only flight hardware (and certain GSE) being subject to the protections. It may be that the State Department purposely keeps it vague so they can assert control when they deem necessary.Rocket ChrisThanks for clarification Rob.
