T O P I C R E V I E Wspaced outThis flag of Benin was flown on the historic Gemini 4 mission in June 1965 by Jim McDivitt. The 4x6" flag is hand signed and identified as flown on Gemini IV by McDivitt and comes with the original COA from Astronaut Central (with printed signature).Note that at the time of the Gemini 4 mission the West African Republic of Benin was actually the Republic of Dahomey. The national flag was changed in 1975 when the People's Republic of Benin was established but when the country became the Republic of Benin in 1990 this original flag design was reinstated.Following the Gemini 4 mission McDivitt stored each of the flags he had carried with a note identifying the country it was from. Unfortunately some of the paper clips used to attach these notes rusted over the decades and this flag is one that shows the resulting stains.Price: $995 worldwide shipping included. Payment via PayPal.
