Rick Mulheirn | Is there anybody out there that could provide me with a high resolution scan of the certificate that accompanied the Lladro Apollo Astronaut porcelain figure? The piece was released in 1994 for the Apollo 11 25th anniversary and was discontinued the following year. As far as I am aware the certificates were not numbered as part of a limited edition. Here's hoping. |
Rick Mulheirn | Anybody able to help? This is the model in question. |
Davbrunson | The only thing I could suggest is maybe eBay. I have seen these listed on there from time to time. Maybe someone has shown a photo of the certificate. |
Rick Mulheirn | Thanks for the suggestion David. I have already trawled the internet for a good close up with little success. I would have thought it a safe bet that one or more collectSpace members own such a figure and certificate. |
mike_nz | I have this figure and certificate, so when I return home next week I could scan the certificate. Have you misplaced yours? |
Rick Mulheirn | Mike, thank you so much for your very kind offer. I recently acquired one of the Apollo Lladro figures from an eBayer in the UK. But the piece came without its original box and certificate. I have no intention of selling the piece so I am not bothered about the box but a hi-res scan to accompany the display would be much appreciated. Thank you. I knew a fellow member would come to the rescue. |
OWL | Rick, the Lladro astronaut figurines I believe were presented to the Apollo astronauts. I have seen the figures in two of their homes and they are displayed in prominent areas of their homes. I have just received one from Mrs OWL (Julie) for our wedding anniversary. I strongly suspect that you may have helped her source this superb piece. It is indeed a wonderful addition to my collection. |
Rick Mulheirn | Glad I could be of assistance. |
