T O P I C R E V I E Wcfreeze79Looking for a ISS EP-1 patch. Paraphrased from Wikipedia: On the day after Space Shuttle Endeavour (STS-100) undocked from the ISS, the Russian spacecraft Soyuz TM-32 docked to the station, carrying two cosmonauts with previous spaceflight experience, as well as Dennis Tito, the first ever "space tourist" — although he was a fully qualified cosmonaut. This 8-day mission is sometimes referred to as ISS EP-1, ISS-2S, Soyuz 2 Taxi Flight, or simply by its launching spacecraft Soyuz TM-32. The commander of this visiting mission was Kazakh cosmonaut Talgat Musabayev, and the other crew member was Yuri Baturin. Can anyone help a fellow collector?cfreeze79Kind of surprised to have not gotten any nibbles on this. Is there some rarity to this patch that I am unaware of?hoorenzI might have a souvenir version somewhere. The original Planeta Zemlya-produced version is not that easy to find. RussianSpacepatches produced a good replica of the patch.hoorenzAt the time of the taxi flights, Planeta and Spaceview worked together. Planeta would make a very small amount of patches for the crew in Russia; Spaceview would later make a larger batch for collectors. This actually already started with Mir EO-28. The reason was the uncertainty about crew makeup. Usually confirmation of who would be on the crew would come too late to have these patches produced in the West and still have enough time to deliver these to Russia ahead of the launch. So both can be considered "real," but the downside of course was that collectors did not get the exact version that was flown. This situation lasted until Soyuz TMA-3, but soon, both Planeta's and Spaceview's patches were replaced by those of Alex Panchenko. cfreeze79Interesting notes... explains a bit of why you don't see them. But still - I would think there would be one in need of a good home.cfreeze79Haven't given up hope on this...cfreeze79Re-ping on an old WTB... Still searching.
