413 is in | I am offering for sale four individual facility access badges that were utilized by employees at the Peenemünde rocket development center in Germany during World War II. These multicolored facility badges are all marked "Heimat Artillerie Park" (HAP) "Karlshagen". The town of Karlshagen is situated directly south of the Peenemünde area (as seen on the map below) and was within the restricted zone during WWII. Subsequent to the RAF bombing raids of the area in 1943/44, and in an effort to confuse the foreign intelligence services, security badges for the Peenemünde missile base were re-issued to all Peenemünde employees and were marked as Karlshagen (in place of the original badges issued prior to 1943 which were marked "Peenemünde"). Please Note: These security badges were utilized by skilled employees who had a need to access various facilities within the research center at Peenemünde. As such, they are in no way associated with any of the forced labor camps or workers held at these camps during the war. According to my research the color markings on this type of badge correspond to the following areas: - Yellow/Yellow - Secret development workshops including Test Stand VII (V2 launch complex)
- White/Red - Main development workshops/offices (contractor)
- White/Blue - Main development workshops/offices (administrative/clerk)
I have the following badges for sale: - Yellow/Yellow (Badge #7115) $325 SOLD
- White/Red (Badge #30599) $225 SOLD
- White/Blue (Badge #38918) $150 SOLD
- White/Blue (Badge #45929) $150 SOLD
Please contact me via e-mail with any questions or for high-res scans if interested. Thanks! |

413 is in | Well, it’s been almost three years since I offered these badges for sale, so I thought it was a good time to bump this post. The two badges listed above are still available for purchase. I haven’t seen any similar badges on the spaceflight auction sites since my original post. These are not commonly found. Drop me a line for larger pictures if interested. Thanks!
