jvertrees | Does anyone have any experience with sending Don Lind his book ("Don Lind: Mormon Astronaut") through the mail? |
disglobes | Yes I sent his book and had he and his wife sign it. |
astro-nut | I have sent Don Lind photos in the mail and he has responded very well and he will autograph his book through the mail as well. Thank you. |
jvertrees | I tracked down a 1st/1st of this out of print book, read it and sent it to them. I received it back signed with a nice note and small gift. The book was returned in only a week, as fast a Alan Bean. |
robsouth | I have his book and his wife signed it too. |
jvertrees | For any new collectors I just want to add a tip for all of us. Make sure you always include return postage and shipping materials. The Lind’s are among the rare from the early era of space who still sign for free through the mail. Let’s not discourage that behavior. |
Tykeanaut | I met Don Lind and his wife several years ago when they visited the U.K. I just wanted to say that they are a lovely couple and Don Lind was very obliging with autographs. |
Hart Sastrowardoyo | I sent Lind a photo, received it back in about a week. |
JoKepler | Anyone know if Don Lind still responds to mail autograph requests? |
albatron | A friend of mine hand carried some items for me when they went for a visit. I had mailed something previously and not had it returned (not sure the time but at least a couple of months). Let's just say he's getting up in age and "forgetful." They are the nicest folks in the world and were upset my item didn't get returned (he had signed it), but sadly this is going to be more and more of an issue with the earlier folks. So the old rule of not sending something you can't afford to lose would apply. |
