T O P I C R E V I E WstsmithvaI recently bought on eBay one of the postcards that I asked about in Opinions and Advice. It was signed by Frank Borman and postmarked Oct. 9, 1962. I was happy to buy this because that is less than a month after he was named an astronaut of Group Two. That got me thinking: who has interesting items signed by the astronauts soon after their selections? I remember a while back there was an amazing Shepard letter he wrote to his parents about trying out for the program (or was it after he was selected?) I'll bet there is a lot out there between just my signed postcard and that letter. Or, we could forget the date- who has a NASA document signed by an astronaut? Those are what I would like to get someday. This month R&R has a "field grade officer effectiveness report" (job evaluation to civilians like me) of Buzz Aldrin signed by Armstrong and Slayton. Yowza!Steve
