| JoKepler | Does anyone know if I can obtain William Thornton's autograph through the mail? Any help appreciated. Thanks. |
| Robert Pearlman | Per his desire, all requests for Dr. Thornton are to be sent c/o the Astronaut Office at JSC (just as if you were writing a current astronaut). |
| RMH | I sent him a photo to sign (at JSC) on Jan. 23 and received it back on March 8. |
| Apollo-Soyuz | The only thing Dr. Thorton will NOT sign is the STS-8 flown covers. |
| jvertrees | Has there been any recent experience in obtaining Dr. Thornton's signature? I have a SMEAT Beta Patch signed by both Col Bobko and Capt Crippen. I of course would love to have Dr. Thornton complete. |
| eurospace | The astronaut office at JSC no longer handles Bill Thornton's autograph mail. You'll have to use his home address. |
| albatron | Does he respond from there? |

Although Mr. Thornton will not sign the STS-8 flown covers, does anyone know whether he will sign the presentation folder that the covers originally come in? Help greatly appreciated — Casey. |

Yes. You need to join a stamped and addressed envelope. |
| albatron | Thanks Juergen. |
| jvertrees | About a week ago I received a letter back from Dr. Thornton. I sent a letter to his home address with SASE asking if he will sign a SMEAT Beta cloth patch. He wrote he will be happy to sign but has no facilities at his home to handle artifacts and requested I send the patch to the Astronaut CB code at JSC. I sent the patch right away and will let you know when it is returned. |
| disglobes | I sent him my SMEAT beta cloth patch which was already signed by Crippen and Bobko. He signed it for me. That was two years ago. |
