T O P I C R E V I E WDOX32Just got this issue, and it was well worth waiting for!! Vol 521 No 2 #297It has several articles on the Project Mercury, with articles by several contributing members in this forum. What a great summary issue in color with many covers listed.Everyone should consider this a must have issue to save with pages 59 to 79 covering the Mercury launches subject extensively.I am scanning these pages and adding them as a major reference for my collection.Noted are excellent articles by Steve Durst, Dennis Dillman, and David Ball.Everyone should get a copy of this one!!!Woody Apollo-SoyuzIf any Collectspace member would like a sample copy of the new look Astrophile, please email me with your mailing address. I'll include membership information. ------------------John MaccoVice PresidentSpace UnitShady Side, Md.Edited by Apollo-SoyuzeurospaceI just got my copy in the mail here (Germany), and I must say it's the best looking Astrophile I have ever held in my hand, and I have held a few. Full color, excellent layout, and the new focus on a single topic for each issue provides for in-depth content. This issue's main story is about the Mercury programme. Definitely worth getting, and if you consider the very modest membership fees, it's a steal. If ever you thought of joining the Space Unit, this is a good moment.------------------Jürgen P EsdersBerlin, Germanyhttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/AstroaddiesDChudwinThe new all-color format of the Astrophile is outstanding. To see so many classic Project Mercury covers in color is a real treat. Congratulations to the editors!Ken HavekotteDitto from all the above! No question about it, this "A" is the best quality issue published when it comes to graphic design in layout, color production, editing, and overall professionalism. A special "well done" thanks to editors Jim Roth and Charles Vukotich for the "new" and exciting Astrophile look as each issue keeps getting better and better. Jim--I'll email you off list soon.RossThe issue just arrived down under. I agree with all of the above. Great issue! The colour and glossy paper make a big difference. Even the smaller illustrations come out extremely clearly. I certainly vote to continue with this after the year's trial. The colour can be extremely important with some items. Can even be the difference between a common and rare item. Not to mention it just looks good!Next issue should be another must have. But then, I'm a little bias as I have a couple of articles in it, including one that shows the advantage of colour. Also hope to have a article on the USS Noa backdated covers which questions some present views on the matter. Should provoke some discussion.Ross.Ross.micropoozMy Astrophile was waiting for me in the mail pile when I got back from Portland last night. Outstanding! What a difference from the halftone b&w pix and blocky text of just a couple of years ago. The Astrophile is now well progressed into the 21st Century!
