[i]Many national flags incorporate red, white and blue. So combining them created a nice royal purple color which works well as a background color with the symbols. The outer border is gold as a nod to the more than 50 year history of "Capsule Communicators." You'll notice radio waves emanating out into space from Houston. They are ghost stitched. T O P I C R E V I E WKSCartistThis morning at Johnson Space Center, NASA's CAPCOM team gathered to see the unveiling of their official emblem. This is the successful conclusion of a project that my friend Leslie Ringo spearheaded since the fall of 2019. It was delayed until now by the pandemic, staffing changes and getting approval for the design elements. This photo of Leslie and I was taken in March 2022 in Houston. The description: Many national flags incorporate red, white and blue. It was a pleasure for Jorge Cartes R and I to help the CAPCOM Team realize their vision.
