T O P I C R E V I E Wyeknom-ecapsCan any space mail enthusiasts shed any background on this "Kniga certified" flown cover? Was it in fact really flown aboard the mission to Salyut 6 or what?cosmos-walterPlease, submit a higher resolution scan of this cover.yeknom-ecapsThanks for checking Walter.cosmos-walterFlown covers from Soyuz 35 to 38 have the larger pentagonal seal of Salyut-6. The Soviet foreign trade organisation Mezhdunarodnaia kniga (international books) sold flown covers as well as unflown souvenir covers. Both were accompanied by a certificate stating that it was flown in space which in many cases was co-signed by a participating cosmonaut. Although the date 23 09 80 was used in space as well as on Earth, this very cover definitively is an unflown souvenir cover. yeknom-ecapsThanks Walter - thought so but want to confirm. Appreciate your reply.
