From links in first two posts:Aldrin praised the president's plan to return to the moon and eventually send men to Mars. "There is so much more to explore. We need a vision for the future."
Russell Schweickart, former Apollo 9 astronaut, will speak on possibilities for renewable energy, highlighting the current administration's lack of support for such development. He will also address the importance of energy independence in the global context. Schweickart is also a former research scientist at he[sic] Experimental Astrnonomy[sic] Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Seems that Buzz's message is more on topic - supporting manned space exploration. Rusty's seems negative -- more against something than for something.
Maybe Rusty will come forward in support of exploration in ANWR if he's really all that concerned over the "importance of energy independence."
