Celestial Matters, the only art exhibition to have flown in outer space, makes its Earth debut in New York City.
The groundbreaking, free exhibition examines the connection between human existence, technology, space travel and the insatiable human desire to explore new frontiers. The show is the result of legendary game developer Dr. Richard Garriott de Cayeux's civilian space journey in 2008, during which artwork by 10 American artists was flown into space and exhibited aboard the International Space Station.
Celestial Matters is presented by Zero G Art and will be open to the public from noon to 7 p.m. from Oct. 14-16 at the Charles Bank Gallery, 196 Bowery St. in Manhattan.
Sponsors include Collective[i] and Portalarium.
