"The Rocket Mails of India, A Visionary Work of Stephen Smith — Part 1" by Markand Dave is a richly illustrated quality hardback book printed on glossy paper.

It is a history of the pioneering rocketry experiments performed by Stephen H Smith in India and Sikkim in the 1930s. The story is told through the lens of the author's own remarkable collection.

This is labelled "Part 1," because a deeper dive into Stephen Smith's own record cards is expected to be the subject of a part two, but this volume is self-reliant and gives the full story.

Although Walter Hopferweiser has illustrated the covers in his excellent "Pioneer Rocket Mail and Space Mail" book, and Gurbir Singh has told the story before in his "India's Forgotten Rocket Pioneer" book, this tome has new and unique material to add to the story. In my opinion it is a must have for the specialist Rocket Mail collector.

Copies can be obtained directly from the author. Residents of the UK can buy a copy through eBay seller sjnick35.
