William R. "Doc" Hanson designed several thousand stamps of some 25 countries. Charlie Duke took three covers with his painting with Apollo 16 to lunar surface.Has anyone heard from him lately? When I wanted to write him an e-mail a few months ago, I noticed that his address no longer works. |

I tried to find out what happened to Bill Hanson a few years ago too. If you find out, please post here. |

Walter, I recently saw one of Bill Hanson's painted covers flown on Apollo 16. I thought I would look for Bill and I found him. He is alive and well at age 81. He is still designing and creating stamps and caches for several of the Pacific islands. I called him and had a great conversation with him about a week ago. He no longer is on the internet, so if you want to connect with him you will have to use snail mail. Please email me and I will give you his address. |
