Is this an authentic William A. Anders autograph? If so, what is its ballpark value? And these Apollo 8 signatures appear authentic to me, but would like a confirmation on that. Assuming these are all authentic, what is a reasonable price to pay for it?  |

Top cover is Anders' autopen.Bottom cover is a forged Anders that ruins an Lovell and Borman signed cover. |

Thanks for the information. I won't be buying these. However, some years ago I read on this site that Anders was signing (on the rare occasion that he did) just his last name. I have in my collection an in-person autograph from Tom Stafford that looks like "Saffo," so I can believe an "Anders" is potentially legit. I tried matching autopens to both of the "Anders" signatures, but you evidently have a more complete source than I do. I do know that autopen patterns could vary due to problems with the autopen machine, etc., and even tried to figure in this possibility and still got fooled, but not enough to buy either without confirmation of authenticity. | |
