American Space Museum release
Legends of NASA Dinner with Bob Sieck

The American Space Museum’s "Legends of NASA" dinner will feature former shuttle launch director Bob Sieck at the Italian American Club of Melbourne on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

You can’t write the story of America's space shuttle without including Bob Sieck, one of its important leaders of the 30-year program. Bob is also a long-time board member and past treasurer of the American Space Museum, and he is supporting this mini-fundraiser for the non-profit organization.

Sieck will share some experiences and answer questions at the Italian-American Club of Melbourne. The dinner will feature lasagna, salad, rolls, desert and coffee. A cash bar will be available.

After graduating from the University of Virginia with an Electrical Engineering degree in 1960, the Air Force trained Sieck to be a meteorologist supporting missile and aircraft operations. Sieck left Air Force active duty and joined NASA at Kennedy Space Center in 1964 as a spacecraft systems engineer for the Gemini and Apollo programs.

At the end of Apollo, he was transferred to the space shuttle program where he was one of the architects of the complex program as key leader in the management ranks.

Bob Sieck was launch director for 51 space shuttle missions before retiring in 1999 as Director of Shuttle Processing. After retirement he has served on many NASA review boards and is currently a member of the NASA Advisory Council and the SpaceX Safety Panel.

The American Space Museum in Titusville is the business of the non-profit U.S. Space Walk of Fame Foundation, which since 1988 has been preserving the birth of America's Space Age in Brevard County, Florida. Contact them and director Mark Marquette, at [email protected] or phone (321) 264-0434.
