The Rocket That Carried The First American Into Space

Discover The All-New 1/70th Scale Mercury Redstone!

On May 5, 1961, a Redstone missile with a one-man capsule bolted to the top carried Alan Shepard past the edge of space and brought him home 15 minutes later. It was the rocket that proved America could do it at all.

What’s special about the Mercury-Redstone?

Our scale kit is built to 1/70, the same as our Saturn V and Saturn 1B. Put all three on a shelf, and you see something you can't get any other way: how much bigger the rockets got in eight years. The Redstone that carried one man for 15 minutes, next to the Saturn V that carried three to the Moon.

It's a Skill Level 4 build, and at just $30.25, it's the easiest way to start that collection or finish it.

All times are CT (US)
