Just wondering if there's a book or publication listing all personal items carried by the astronauts during the 1962 through 1975 NASA spaceflight missions? From Alan Shepard's Naval Academy officer's ring and one US dollar banknote on MR-3, over the Gold Cross, David Star and St Christopher medal taken by Edward White on Gemini IV, the James Mattern items carried by Neil Armstrong during Gemini 8 and Apollo 11, to the embroidered patch by Thomas Stafford on Apolo-Soyuz Test Project. |

Most of these items would be listed on the astronauts' personal preference kit manifests, but most of those lists have not been made public. Also, it was up to the astronaut as to how specific he wanted to be in the list, so not all items are listed precisely enough to be easily matched with later said to be flown items. An entry may only "jewelry" rather than clarify it is a ring or necklace, for example. | |
