Zena Cardman, SpaceX Crew-11 commander, began to introduce her fifth crew member, but stopped before revealing what it is, its name or more of its back story:
This zero-g indicator honors a shared memory with our lead trainer Paul Weiss.

Today (Jan. 21), at the Crew-11 post-flight press conference, I asked Zena Cardman if she could elaborate on the meaning behind the zero-g indicator, which NASA public affairs previously confirmed as being a seal.
Forgive me, [but] I won't read you in on the exact inside joke, but it is a shared memory with our SpaceX lead trainer, Paul Weiss, and that whole training team who got us ready for this flight.

Paul was actually also my lead trainer for Crew 9 and that leadup and so he has been just such a steadfast friend and excellent trainer getting us ready for this spaceflight.

So we really felt like Paul was with us in the capsule, and we very frequently said, "Let's make Paul proud with our actions and our decisions." And I hope we did. So thanks, Paul.

All times are CT (US)
