What ever happened to the little silver communion set used by Buzz Aldrin on the Moon's surface after Neil Armstrong landed the Eagle? Did it end up in the Smithsonian, the Vatican, etc.? Maybe Buzz still has it.

I would think a flown item of this significance would be priceless. A "nosey" Texan wants to know (me).

I'm not sure about this, but I believe I recall reading that his communion set ended up back at the church he attended while living in Houston. I'm sure it's considered a treasured relic there, and worth a mint both as a space and religious artifact.

The chalas is at the Webster Presbyterian Church in Webster, Texas. It is an amazing piece of history being connected to the first communion performed on another world.

The chalas is mounted on a small plastic cube as a stand. The church has been advised to keep it in a safe place, but it can be seen at request.

All times are CT (US)
