The San Diego Air & Space Museum hosted a gala dinner in celebration of the 50th anniversary of NASA's Apollo 9 mission on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. Attendees were each gifted with this medallion made in part from Apollo command module flown metal and engineering metal from the Curiosity Mars rover, which was limited to 500 pieces.

According to the museum’s gift shop, they will not be offering these for sale. |

Thank you for this information! Just ordered a few. Had hoped one day to get them on the secondary market, much better to get from the museum. |

I recently had an inquiry from a fellow collector who was interested in this medallion. Does anyone have an idea of its value? I was not able to find any resales of this item to compare to. Thanks in advance for your help. |

Hard to say... limit to 500 pieces and none for sale. I would guess $100 to $200, depends on how bad you want it. I mean it's worth what someone is willing to pay. |

I was fortunate to purchase one of these medallions on eBay in January 2025 for $21.95. |
