[b]Spaceport Authority Announces Change in Leadership[/b] New Mexico Spaceport Authority Executive Director Steve Landeene is leaving his position after successfully meeting all legislative mandates and putting Spaceport America on track to be operational by the end of the year. "We appreciate Steve's service and wish him well in the future," said Fred Mondragón, the chairman of the Spaceport Authority and Secretary of Economic Development. "The Authority will move aggressively to find a replacement and move forward with the construction schedule for Spaceport America." Landeene was hired in January 2008 as the first executive director of Spaceport American. His resignation is effective May 15.
