[i]In a milestone for human spaceflight, cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko, working through a yearlong stay aboard the International Space Station, logged his 1,000th day in space today (June 4) over five flights; that's 122 days beyond the previous 878-day 11-hour record set by cosmonaut Gennady Padalka in 2015; Peggy Whitson, the most experienced US astronaut, has logged 675 days in space across four flights.[/i]
