Progress MS-11 reaches space and races to station Carrying more than 3.5 tons of food, fuel and supplies for the International Space Station crew, the unpiloted Russian Progress MS-11 spacecraft launched on Thursday (April 4) at 7:01 a.m. EDT (1101 GMT; 4:01 p.m. local time) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The resupply ship reached preliminary orbit and deployed its solar arrays and navigational antennas as planned. Following a two-orbit rendezvous, the cargo craft will dock to the orbiting laboratory at 10:25 a.m. EDT (1425 GMT). Progress MS-11 will remain docked at the station for about three months before departing in July for its deorbit in Earth’s atmosphere.
