[b]Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft, crew poised for launch[/b] Soyuz MS-09 commander Sergey Prokopyev of Roscosmos, together with flight engineers Alexander Gerst of the European Space Agency (ESA) and Serena Auñón-Chancellor of NASA, are set to launch to the International Space Station at 6:12 a.m. CDT (1112 GMT or 5:12 p.m. local) on Wednesday (June 6) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Credit: NASA/Victor Zelentsov They will dock to the station's Rassvet module at 8:07 a.m CDT (1307 GMT) on Friday (June 8), after a two-day rendezvous. About two hours later, the hatches between the Soyuz and station will open and Prokopyev, Gerst and Auñón-Chancellor will be greeted by Expedition 56 commander Drew Feustel of NASA with flight engineers Oleg Artemyev of Roscosmos and Ricky Arnold of NASA. Prokopyev, Gerst and Auñón-Chancellor will be on the space station through December. On Monday (June 4), the Soyuz-FG rocket with the Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft was transported to the launch pad by train and erected into position.
