This design is the third in the series "Celebrating 50 Years of America in Space" it honors the men and women of the X-15 Program. The central theme of the design is the launch of the X-15 from its carrier aircraft. It flies to where the sky turns black. The twelve men who piloted the X-15 are listed in the order by which they made their first flight. The twelve stars in the sky represent the pilots service. The six white stars are for the civilians, five silver stars for the USAF pilots and 1 gold star for the US Navy pilot. The patch is 6" in diameter and 4" high It is a fully embroidered with a merrowed border.
