The Saturn V and Apollo spacecraft had numerous other uses as a heavy-lift vehicle and manned spacecraft, as evidenced by Skylab and recent efforts to emulate the basic design architectures again for future explorations. Most would argue that it was a failure of [i]funding[/i] to create and use more equipment, not the equipment itself, that led to Apollo's demise.
