Dragon leaves station, heads for Pacific splashdown SpaceX's CRS-18 Dragon cargo spacecraft was released from the International Space Station on Tuesday (Aug. 27) at 10:59 a.m. EDT (1459 GMT) after flight controllers in Houston used the Canadarm2 robotic arm to unberth the vehicle from the Harmony module at 8:25 a.m. EDT (1225 GMT). Expedition 60 flight engineer Christina Koch of NASA monitored the Dragon as it departed the orbiting laboratory. The Dragon then fired its thrusters to move a safe distance from the station. It will execute a de-orbit burn around 3:22 p.m. EDT (1922 GMT) to begin its return to Earth. Splashdown is targeted for approximately 4:21 p.m. EDT (2021 GMT) in the Pacific Ocean, off the coast California.
