Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Apollo 7 The Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas, Texas, the location of the Apollo 7 Command Module on loan from the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum, celebrates the 40th anniversary of Apollo 7's flight with a commemorative coin that includes an enameled representation of the original Apollo 7 patch. As indicated by the lettering, the coin will contain metal from the Apollo 7 spacecraft; specifically, fragments of the reflective Kapton thermal tape covering and of a 16mm data acquisition cable. The metal fragments are graciously donated for this project by Mr. Jerry Czubinski of Houston, Texas, and documentation of the provenance of the metal fragments is on file at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. The coin will be 3mm thick and 39mm in diameter. Of a limited edition of 500 numbered coins, 100 are being offered to the collectSPACE community. Due to anticipated demand, orders are limited to two coins per household. The proceeds from the sale of these coins will go to support the education programs of the Frontiers of Flight Museum.
