I can see that in a few other domains (for instance meteorite collecting, filled with discussions about eBay scams and "fights" between sellers etc..), and I'm sure it must be the same with stamps collecting or wine labels collecting or.. you name it.

I guess we will just get used to the new state of the markets for collectibles; maybe the situation will calm down a bit but at the moment I don't see much reason why..

Yesterday I was the subject of a post about Ebay shennigans. I was wrongfully accused about something where I did nothing wrong. The accuser did absolutely no fact finding and just went "off".

Listed below I am listing the reply I recieved from the seller with his approval. I have removed the accusers name.

To the original post above I will say this. For starters, I believe we can make improvements if we all will act in a more responsible way before we let WILD accusations fly.

For all the MANY posts here of late about backdoor dealings on Ebay, and practices by both sellers and buyers that seem to be "getting out of hand", we have a plea by Gerry M., well known to all as one of the most knowledgeable people in this hobby, that we all try to "clean up" what's been too much "thrashing and trashing", by being a little more responsible about what gets said and talked about before tagging people unfairly and tarnishing reputations, even when people aren't named specifically.

I find it very odd that this thread has basically withered after only 2 posts, when I think this is an issue that is central to the way the etiquette concerning this hobby goes forward from here.

If it serves to alert people that better behavior is advantageous for all, and is picked up on, I guess no further comments are necessary, but I do hope that what Gerry posted will indeed get readers to ponder what's been going on, and for all to be more thoughtful before letting the "fur fly".
