have a question regarding pictures of the Gemini 11 crew. There is the well known picture of the prime & back-up crews around the Gemini capsule - but no pictures of the prime crew alone or the back up crew.I was wondering if such pictures were ever taken. The official Gemini 11 crew picture comes from when they served as the Gemin 8 back-up crew, but with both Conrad and Gordon posing in Gemini suits with the back-up crew for Gemini 11 pictures why not take some pictures of just the prime crew?

Ken's referring to the shot of the two crews together wearing their Gemini spacesuits rather than blue jumpsuits. It's true that it would be nice to see a shot of each crew individually from the same photo session and surprising if such shots were never taken.

No doubt portraits of the two seperate crews were also taken. I have another shot from that photo session, showing the two crews in a different setting.

Is it just me, or does Armstrong not seem interested in either of these photos?

LOL- I think poor Neil just looks tired.

Those are wonderful shots, Ed!
Very nostagic at the Sim console... analog meters, rotary phone.... like a scene from a '60's sci fi movie; and it all seems like just yesterday!

Oh my...Neil really does look completely bored or annoyed at being involved in this photo session. I've never seen these shots before. I wonder if he felt that it was just a waste of his time. He doesn't even seem to be trying to do the public relations bit...

Neil was probably dreaming of being the 1st man on the Moon and was thinking of what he would say as he steps off the LM!!

Also of note in that sim photo- the good ol' Western Electric carbon mic headsets!
Somewhere in my garage I still have one that was issued to me at the Cape about 1970... When they were being phased out, they said 'keep it- we don't want 'em back!'

All times are CT (US)
