For your consideration is a NASA Apollo Mission 2 "Remove Before Flight" cover part #1B94405-3 (NC) K2. The cover measures 19" by 4" by 2". The item comes from the estate of Charles Bell in May 2000.

Wouldn’t there be a NASA part number like LDW-xxxx or V36-xxxx?

I worked at McDonnell Douglas Astronautics Company (MDAC) and the part number looks like a MDAC part number. The (NC) indicates that the part was made used the 'New Change' drawing meaning that the drawing associated with the part number is the first release of that drawing. If there was a change to the drawing instead of an 'NC' there would be an 'A'. Subsequent changes would be 'B', 'C', 'D', etc.
The 6061T6 is the type of aluminum used for the part.
