This collection covers embroidered crew logos/program emblems of all NASA astronaut missions which have taken place from the USA. Gemini 5 to Dragon Crew 12. The collection covers Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, ASTP, Space Shuttle, ISS Expeditions, Dragon Crew, Starliner crew, Artemis and program patches for the above.
The collection does not include crew patches of NASA astronaut Soyuz missions launched from Baikonur nor patches of non-NASA astronaut missions launched from the US.. A few non US patches are included - UK Juno (Sharman) patches and UK Tim Peake patches and also the world's very first crew patch - Vostok 6 (Tereshkova).
All patches are mounted (can be detached) on black card in separate plastic wallets. Wallets of patches are stored in plastic boxes. Each patch has a a description insert sheet on the reverse of the black card giving details about each patch design.
The collection was started in the mid 1970's. Patches were bought new from various sources including Space Frontiers, Stewart Aviation, AB Emblem and dealers in the US & Europe. All patches are in excellent condition and have never been worn or exposed to sunlight or smoke. 276 embroidered patches in total.
