Space Cover 877: One of a Kind Cover?I've been collecting space covers since 1968 and one of my favorite cachets to collect are covers with a Kennedy Space Center (KSC) Official NASA Cachet (ONC). When I held one of these covers in my hand as a 12 year old fascinated by the space program I remember thinking "Wow, this cover was actually at the Kennedy Space Center for the launch of the Gemini/Apollo mission."
Since then I have amassed a collection of over 240 covers with a KSC ONC for launches, moon landings, moon walks, splashdowns, etc. But even after collecting ONC covers for almost 60 years I still find one that I have never seen before, and that is the cover shown above.
The cover has an ONC for the Apollo 12 mission and was cancelled on the day of launch. What makes this cover especially unique is that a medal made to commemorate the Apollo 12 mission is part of the cover. I've seen other space covers with different cachets where medals were part of the cover, but never a cover with an ONC. I'm sure that many of these medals were made, but how many of them were used to create a space cover with an ONC for the Apollo 12 mission?
As you can see from the photo above the front of the medal has portraits of the Apollo 12 crew while the back of the medal shows the Apollo 12 mission emblem.

So here are my questions to the collectSPACE community:
- Have you seen other examples of this cover?
- Have you seen other ONC covers with medals?
- Could this be a one-of-a-kind cover?
While my guess is that more than one cover was made for Apollo 12 with an ONC and this medal the fact that I haven't seen one in almost 60 years gives me the impression that if more than one of these covers exist there probably weren't many of them made.Although this topic is about Apollo 12 covers with an ONC and medal I encourage other collectors that have other covers with any cachet and a medal to post pictures of them.
